Supreme knowledge to transform today's world:
Definition of Maharishi's Heaven on Earth
(26
March 2009) As part of current initiatives to promote enlightenment for
every individual, invincibility for every nation, and world peace
through the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the
Maharishi Channel recently featured a historic video from almost exactly
two decades ago, 12 January 1989, in Maharishi Nagar, India.
Dr Neil Paterson, a leader of the Global Country of World Peace for
Canada and of the Maharishi Purusha Programme, explained that
'Maharishi's definition of Heaven on Earth is a definition of the
supreme quality of life in a beautiful world where weakness and
suffering are not found anywhere. Everyone always enjoys real freedom in
bliss and fulfilment on every level.'
Dr Paterson's presentation was inspired by Maharishi's Master Plan to
Create Heaven on Earth—the global programme Maharishi inaugurated that
year to transform the destiny of life on earth from problems and
suffering to a heavenly life for all humanity. Dr Paterson was
addressing a grand celebration welcoming the dawn of Heaven on Earth,
and began by saying that he wanted to reflect on 'all the glories that
are going to be experienced in life in Heaven on Earth', beautifully
described in Maharishi's definition.
He said that Maharishi's definition of life—that life is bliss—is going
to replace the old definition of life—that life is a struggle.
'Maharishi gives us a beautiful vision of perfection of life on earth,'
he said, 'which is being brought about through Maharishi's Vedic Science
and Technology, which is a complete science, a perfect science of
Natural Law.'
Dr Paterson said that in Maharishi's definition, Heaven on Earth on the
individual level will be characterized for everyone by perfect health,
long life in bliss, and the ability to effortlessly fulfil one's
desires, while at the same time naturally promoting the evolution of
everyone and everything. Heaven on Earth on the collective level will be
characterized by indomitable positivity, harmony, and peace on all
levels of collective life: family, community, nation, and the world.

New
website on Transcendental Meditation Sidhi
Programme and Yogic Flying to be launched
(22
March 2009) The Global Country of World Peace is in the process of
creating a new website to be dedicated to the Transcendental Meditation
Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying.
'This website will provide the opportunity for people to quickly learn
all about Maharishi's programme to create coherence and to accelerate
the full development of the individual and society through Yogic
Flying,' reported Dr Mario Orsatti, National Director of Communication
for the Global Country of World Peace inthe US, on 17 March 2009. The
site will feature interviews with Yogic Flyers, in which they discuss
the benefits they've experienced from the programme in their daily
lives.
Parts of the project, said Dr Orsatti, have been in the works for nearly
two years—such as the video aspect of the website. The site will
supplement tm.org, which is now dedicated entirely to the Transcendental
Meditation Programme. 'We hope to launch the Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi
Programme website within the next 60 days,' he announced.
The site is being developed in the US, but will be an additional
resource of knowledge and information available for anyone in the world,
along with the rich array of websites provided by organizations offering
Maharishi's programmes in many countries. (Please visit the Global Good
News page Worldwide Links for a current list, which is updated
frequently.)

Middle East: Enthusiastic reception for
Consciousness-Based Education
in United Arab Emirates
(21
March 2009) During his continuing worldwide education tour, Dr Ashley
Deans, Global Ambassador of Consciousness-Based Education for the Global
Country of World Peace, gave presentations to leaders and top
educators—university presidents and education officials—throughout the
United Arab Emirates.
Dr Deans' presentations were enthusiastically received everywhere he
went, said Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Invincible United Arab Emirates
for the Global Country of World Peace.
At some of the schools, students and teachers were so excited about
Consciousness-Based Education that they crowded around Dr Deans after
his talk, hoping that they would be able to learn the Transcendental
Meditation Programme immediately.
Upon hearing about Consciousness-Based Education and Transcendental
Meditation, the school teachers immediately saw the value of these
programmes, Raja Peter said. They especially appreciated the benefits of
increased brainwave coherence, development of intelligence, and
increased peacefulness.
The media also featured interviews with Dr Deans, making the knowledge
of Consciousness-Based Education widely available.
His tour in the United Arab Emirates has been tremendously successful—as
it has been in other countries, Raja Peter said. 'He just goes and the
doors open for him in an incredible way.'

Sold-out benefit
concert for
David Lynch Foundation
to be headlined by Paul McCartney
at Radio City Music Hall,
New York on 4 April 2009
(18
March 2009) Paul McCartney and special guests Ringo Starr, Sheryl Crow,
Donovan, Eddie Vedder, Ben Harper, Moby, Paul Horn, Bettye LaVette, and
Jim James will perform at the David Lynch Foundation's benefit concert,
''Change Begins Within'' at Radio City Music Hall in New York on
Saturday, April 4th, 7:30 p.m.
David Lynch, Russell Simmons, Laura Dern, and other surprise guests will
fill out the star-studded slate as presenters.
Tickets for the concert sold out* within hours of being offered to the
public on 9 March. ''Change Begins Within'' is raising funds to teach
one million at-risk children to meditate—giving them life-long tools to
overcome stress and violence and promote peace and success in their
lives. In 1968, the Beatles, Donovan, and Paul Horn traveled to India to
study Transcendental Meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The trip's
dramatic impact was evident on their music and is credited for the
acceptance of meditation in the West today.
Paul McCartney said his Transcendental Meditation practice has helped
him personally over the past 40 years. ''In moments of madness, it has
helped me find moments of serenity,'' Paul said. He added that he
supports the work of the David Lynch Foundation to bring the technique
to one million children for the same reason. ''I would like to think
that it would help provide them a quiet haven in a not-so-quiet world.''
Ringo
Starr expressed his personal satisfaction to be performing at the
concert: ''It gives me great pleasure to be part of this evening. I feel
the aims of this charity are wonderful!''
Donovan added: ''How great to be playing with Paul, Ringo, and Paul Horn
again—as we did in India in 1968. And now we see the amazing results of
our work from 40 years ago to bring meditation to the whole world. It's
the same message today, which is, 'Change begins within.' ''
About the David Lynch Foundation
The David Lynch Foundation has provided scholarships since 2005 for more
than 60,000 students, parents, and teachers to learn to meditate
throughout the United States, Latin America, the Middle East, and
Africa. The Foundation also funds independent university research on the
effects of the Transcendental Meditation technique on stress, learning,
and behavior. For more information visit DavidLynchFoundation.org.
National Institutes of Health
The NIH has awarded over $24 million during the past 20 years to
investigate the effects of Transcendental Meditation on brain
functioning and cardiovascular disease.
